County Road Convention Aims To Improve County Roads

Workman fatally killed by rail at steel plant dock

George Helfrich a helper on the docks of the steel plant was struck on the head by a heavy rail and instantly killed at 11:16 Friday morning. He had been fastening rails to the derrick chain when the rails slipped free from the chain and crushed him. Fellow workers and Dr. Baldwin attempted aid but he died instantly. He was 41, married 10 years. Coroner Vrensh rendered a verdict.

Vermilion Smallpox Standstill Indicates Grim Deaths
