City Council Ends Bidding Tug of War Over Bonds
The council met Tuesday in an adjourned session with two members absent. Dennison Prior and Co. bid to issue four blocks of paying bonds but failed to file required certified checks. Security Savings and Trust Co. of Toledo offered the highest bid yet did not meet conditions. Hayden Miller and Co. urged rejecting both bids for insufficient checks, while acknowledging Dennison Prior’s bid was lower. A request for electric lights before the Fourth Ward hose house moved to committee. Tite Bros. sewer complaint led to no action. Sidewalk plans near shade trees prompted a note to audit tree preservation versus line adherence.
