Working for Better Roads Plan Gains City Support

An Elyria organization forming a county good roads society aims to push Pennsylvania style state aid for roads. Lorain Governor Nash Trip Cancelled by Cleveland Orders

Lorain residents were disappointed to learn Governor Nash would not visit. A Cleveland paper reported the governor would ride the steamer W C Richardson to load coal for Duluth, but orders changed to load in Cleveland.

Paper Hunting as a Riding Game Described

An old time riding game called paper hunting simulates fox chasing. Players follow a trail laid by a man on horseback called the hound master and aim to outpace pursuers while avoiding fences and keeping to the course under simple rules.

Elyria Lodge to Represent at National Convention in Baltimore

The Elyria lodge of Elke will be represented at the national convention in Baltimore from July 41 to 26. WR Brooks is elected delegate with WR Huntington as alternate. Berlin Heights Vote Passes Wet Law in Historic Ballot

Berlin Heights village residents voted under the Beal law yesterday and the wets won with a 7 to 1 tally. The measure drew the largest ever vote in the village as liquor flowed freely and townspeople celebrated with jubilation and bright lights.

Chas Pomroy Hurt in Ridgeville Horse Incident
