Commissioners from the court of common pleas report the final partition of the John Stang estate valued around 100000. Catherine Stang widow receives nineteen shares in the Stang addition valued at 7140. M F Stang John J Stang and Christian Little receive equal shares of 627 of the property each about 1438 in total. Lucille and Clifford Jackson receive half shares, Moon Braun’s share equals 37086.06. The report details parcels allocated to complete the division.

Woman driven insane by property loss through litigation

Martha De Ette Gilett of Brighton and another woman afflicted with melancholia after property disputes with a stone company. Gilett was adjudged insane by Judge Hinman and moved to Toledo state hospital by Sheriff Salisbury. The other woman, Roasmus Wadworth of Wellington, has shown extreme melancholia since the incident, and has been hospitalized without violence.

A dog belonging to AR Bickford has been poisoned, described as a fine specimen and long cherished. The miscreant responsible is unknown, and no motive or suspect is identified in the report. The community is urged to report any information to local authorities.

The will of Angeline Brown is refused admission to probate after conflicting witness statements. J A Webster, who drafted the document, testifies Brown lay on a couch during signing and urges another witness. Ida Hutchinson refutes signing involvement while not present. Woman artist paints interior eye scenes for US book

A New York woman, expert at depicting the eye interior, uses an ophthalmoscope to examine the retina and then paints detailed pictures. Her sketches will illustrate a costly forthcoming work on the human eye, the first of its kind published in the United States.

Horse kicks grocer's delivery boy injures leg

Arthur Ferner an employee at Conry and Stark's grocery was kicked by a horse Thursday evening while guiding it to the barn on West River Street. He suffered a fracture of the left leg and was taken home to 208 Furnace Street where Dr Shetfield attended him.

A shooting occurred Thursday afternoon behind the house of Reaph Jonea in Earlcourt. A stray shot shattered a back window, passed through a curtain, and lodged in the wall indicating a serious potential outcome.

Voyage of Discovery Expeds from Elyria toward Lake Erie

A small expedition leaves Elyria at seven for a short campaign of exploration near Lake Erie. Comprised of Isaac Harkleroad Johnson, Isaac Faxon Jr., and Ralph Wallace, they plan to reach near stop 79 on the Lake Shore Electric railway by about 1 pm. They intend to erect two tents at the burial site of Red Scalp and use telescopes to locate the north pole. Further updates are anticipated.
