Dr Barrows Story of a Valentines Day Memory
A fragmented reminiscence recalls Dr Barrows narrating a wartime or postwar tale of a doctor’s attempt to write a Valentine for his father. The scene centers on a home, a mother’s handwritten note, a serigraphist, and a child delivering the envelope as the doctor reads the letter aloud to his wife’s handwriting. The narrative touches on a busy yard, a neighborhood, and a sentimental moment amid daily wartime or postwar life.
