Chamberlain sought a franchise for an Elyria Gaasten electro rail from East Avenue to Middle Avenue on Fourteenth Street. Fire destroys Haney residence near Elyria
A Thursday evening blaze leveled EK J Haney’s East Revenue area home as neighbors spotted the fire but could do little due to distance from water. The house owned by Harry Grifth of Lorain was uninsured beyond the dwelling and all upstairs contents were lost while downstairs furniture was saved. The section notes a dull December in police court with 18 arrests, 14 for intoxication, plus minor counts. council fines totaled 60.45 with 10 to the Humane Society, and a remaining 50.55 check was not received.

Injured Elyria Plants Manager Struck by Fly Wheel
Griswold, manager of the Elyria Wood Plaster Company, was severely hurt at the plant Saturday afternoon while inspecting a gasoline engine. He slipped and was struck by the fly wheel, sustaining severe facial injuries including a crushed orbital bone, eye penetration, jaw and nose fractures.
