Ice Hook Accident Involving Bohrer On Church Street

Oberlin College sued over brickwork contract dispute

John H. Nolen Jr files in common pleas court against Oberlin College board of trustees and George Feik claiming Feik owed $1077.76 for furnishing and laying 195000 bricks at the new chemical laboratory. Nolen says he completed the work, Feik paid $1817.24, and the college sought by Nolen to cover the balance from Feik’s due amount. Johnson is attorney for the plaintiff.

Fire Department Annual Report Reveals 27 Calls Last Year

Fire Chief Hafner reports twenty seven calls from January 1, 1900 to January 1, 1901 with two false alarms. Incendiaries accounted for three fires, defective flues eight, chimney sparks three, electric wires one, locomotive sparks two, lightning two, gasoline stove one, still alarm one, and four unknown causes. Total property loss stood at 12450 dollars, with only 800 uninsured. the GC L and W depot suffered the heaviest loss after a tank was left open.
