The fall term at Oberlin Business College was highly successful and the winter term begins next Monday January 14 with many new students expected. The school offers a high grade education praised as thorough and nationally notable.

The seventeen year old Miss Luella Turner, daughter of Lo Turner of Lake Avenue, died of consumption on Thursday night at Sadlock after nearly two years of illness. Funeral services with Rev. Waunamaker will be held Sunday at one o clock at the house. The Kennedy Players debut at the opera house next week, offering a strong repertoire with new plays by a skilled company. Prices are 10, 20, 30 cents with Ladies 15 cents for Monday night.
Lorain earns a reputation as a safe harbor as over fifty boats seek winter quarters. Harbor Master Bowen assigns berths and does not expect more arrivals unless dry dock repairs occur. The Wellington Disciples of Christ celebrate the completion of their church with a dedication service next Sunday at 10 am led by Judge A K R Webber. Ray J G O B Stivers, the pastor, supervised improvements to a building once opened by James A Garfield in 1859. The interior now features modern lighting, carpeted halls, glass windows, and a connected auditorium and lecture room. The pastor invites all citizens to attend the dedicatory ceremony and witness the transformed church.
President and Mrs Henry Churchill King hosted a community reception at their East College Street home marking a broad exchange between Oberlin town and the college. The informal event invited all residents and students, a radical shift from prior presidents' approaches and deemed a success.
George LeClair, proprietor, disposes of the Elyria Machine and Foundry Co to B F Shuart of Oberlin. A skilled Cleveland mechanic will take charge and oversee expansion of machinery and efficiency. LeClair remains with the concern for a period while the business continues without interruption.
Miss Bessie Barres of North Ridgeville reported a purse theft from the Fay Stocking Company dressing room where she works. She left her small red pocketbook with a silver clasp in her cloak pocket, found missing later, officer Whitney recovered a suspect but no reward unless the purse is returned within three days.
