Mrs. Eliza Childe aged resident died at her son's home on West 8th Street at eight o'clock Wednesday morning. She was 84 years old. The funeral will be held at the house on Friday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. Salsa officiating.

Kipton man arrested in Norwalk bribery case linked to Britannica

ARRESTED DM Bram of Kipton was taken into custody a week ago Saturday in Norwalk on a bribery charge. The indictment stems from an offer of $2 to John Rossman of Peru township to secure Britannica introductions in several area schools. Rossman declined. Bram’s prior role as Kipton schools superintendent and current encyclopedia salesman is noted, with the case awaiting outcome.

Rural mail carrier laments pay after year of expenses

A More Pay Av rural delivery mail carrier outlines yearly costs totaling 144.39 from a 600 salary leaving 455.81 for his work.
