The Church of Christ held its annual meeting last night with 68 pew members added since Rev. Sala's eight month tenure. Reports show progress. Sunday school more than doubled and bought a newspaper, OWBM added 20 new members, and a men's Brotherhood formed. Rev. Sala announced 9000 was needed to clear indebtedness. 226 was raised in three minutes, followed by lunch for 25.

Elyria mourns the loss of SAD DEATH WA Gilbert a longtime blacksmith of Lodi street who died at home Tuesday afternoon at four o clock at the age of T4. He lived in Elyria his entire life is survived by his wife and one son. He operated a shop here for over forty years retiring about eighteen years ago after weeks of illness the immediate cause of death was heart failure.
The waterworks pumping station machinery will cost about $28,200 with $18,200 for the pumping station exclusive of machinery and machinery priced above $10,000 to be supplied by Petley and Franklin of Akron. Mise Pansy LeClair, daughter of Geo LeClair and Andrew Droesanda, wed Wednesday morning at St. Marys Church and will live in Elyria.
The First Church in Oberlin hosted the college oratorical contest on Tuesday night. L D Wonderft of Niles Ohio won first prize and $50, F W Vincent of Oberlin took second with $20, and Deb Bersamian a Turk earned third. The Oberlin winner advances to the Northern Oratorical League in Minneapolis May 1 among Chicago Northwestern Iowa Michigan Wisconsin Minnesota. The league prize structure lists a top prize of 60.00 and second prize of 5.
Carlisl e farmer PG Freeman reported a hive theft by a local man Gleason and a boy Ott. Ott testified. Gleason admitted accompanying him but claimed the boy did the stealing. Justice Lawrence fined Gleason ten dollars and costs and sentenced him to thirty days in the workhouse.
