The Ventral Passenger association authorizes a single fare round trip to all PA points for the State Convention of Christian Homemakers at Myra from June 2 to 23. The special rate covers continuous passage in either direction within the period ending June 25, 1908, with returns allowed. Williams serves as Transportation Committee chair.
Winchester Indiana resident M. M. Austin claims his wife recovered from illness after taking Dr. King's New Life Pills. Advertised as remedies for stomach and liver troubles and constipation, the pills are sold for 25 cents at H. J. Esdy's drug store.

Oberlin College trustees report a New England donor raises a prior gift to 100000, conditional on 400000 more by Jan 1, 1904, and form a committee to plan a new chapel after a fire.
The case of Jacob Meyer and Rev Anthony Stuber, tied to Carpenter work for the Holy Trinity church at Avon, was settled out of court. Stuber paid Meyer's attorney 825 dollars and Meyers claimed 1084 in damages while a separate bank claim of 500 against Meyers was settled. A runaway horse wrecked a wagon on Eleventh street. The Wellington Bowling Club plans a match with Buckeye at Elyria alleys next Tuesday February ith.
William H Hastings was arrested on Thursday on the charge of supporting his family. He appeared before Mayor Reefy, fined ten dollars and costs, and sentenced to sixty days in the workhouse, suspended on condition he mend his ways. He bought household supplies Thursday afternoon suggesting improvement. Other names listed include John B Hills 23, railroad man Cleveland Martha Klein 24 hair dresser Elyria Charles Sippel 40 laborer Lorain Louise Kiine 33 dressmaker Elyria.
The Iron Trade Review reports likely 50 million dollars to modernize U S Steel plants next year. About 10 million will be spent at McKeesport Pennsylvania and a similar sum at Lorain Ohio. Hal F Hinman eldest son of Judge EBBH Hinman has accepted a lucrative position in Pinsters as a solo cornetist with the Lorain City Band. Cleveland papers launch crusade against fake mining oil and other bogus land office concerns. Elyria visited by representatives of many such companies, exposing victims.
The Ninety Five club gathered at Miss Clara Smith's Mid dleuarne home on Thursday afternoon to study English paintings. Miss Zelia William presented a paper on Edwin Henry Landseer, noted animal painter, and Miss Burrows discussed Joseph Turner. Miss Smith later spoke on John Constable, an English landscape painter. Myxa Miller led the third division in current events.
Maria Robinson sued Nickle Plate in common pleas court over injuries from a bridge break at Oak Point in summer 1901. The case was near verdict when a settlement was amicably agreed Friday morning. Maggie Noveaki versus Antone Bittner was dismissed at the plaintiff’s costs.
