A deadly wreck on the C and S W southern division occurred near a switch when a fur brakes failed. Motorman Henry Hoffenburg, about 35, died a few hours after the collision. Former Elyria man wounds self in restaurant stabbing
William Duffy, about 24, a former Elyria butcher, stabbed himself with a penknife at the Lorain Dairy restaurant on Wednesday night. The blade pierced between the ribs near the heart but the injury was not serious. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and released. His wife left him two months ago over temper and drinking habit.
