Port Clinton to Host New Steel Plant Project

Plans mature to turn Port Clinton area into a second Loraine style steel plant. Eastern capitalists back the scheme to buy 40 acres along Portage River and lay out 500 lots for the site and villages. The proposed mills would cost about 250000 and employ up to 2000 workers. The location near river mouth allows easier docking for lake freighters after dredging.

Burial of Mrs Francis Tho in Sugar Ridge Cemetery

Remains of Mrs. Francis Tho, also known as Mrs. Robert Mrancis, were brought Wednesday at eleven o'clock from Akron for burial. She was eighty three, an old resident of the area. Her husband was Astonic iagon a stone cutter. She was buried on Sugar Ridge, where she had lived after leaving Elyria.

Death of an Oberlin Man Henry Wheat Dies at 60

Henry Wheat a well known Oberlin resident died at his home last Tuesday night after a long illness. About 60 years old he moved from Pittfield to Oberlin many years ago and for 25 years operated the line between Oberlin and Wellington. His wife died seven years ago and he is survived by three sons and two daughters.

Mishap on Cleveland and South Western Line near Cleve Tour Street

A Cleveland and South Western Electric car struck a farm wagon driven by Henry Baus near West Ridge after a sudden approach on Cleve Tour Street. The horses were badly injured and one was severely lacerated while the car’s fender was broken. Poor visibility due to fog shielded the motorman from blame as Baus escaped with minor injuries after the collision.
