A worker cut a guy wire causing the Bell system to go out of commission across the yellow line trolley. Full restoration not complete by Saturday afternoon. The incident, linked to a grading project and worker Joshua D. Lickoriah, affected multiple properties and prompted a late repair estimate.
The Mansfield News reports Judge Amos Webber recommended Mr. Bull for the Butler county vacancy after the death of Postmaster Bender. Two applicants were considered. the Postmaster General referred the matter to Webber, a Republican candidate, who praised Bull’s character and party loyalty. On Saturday morning in Elyria police court Mrs. Viola Hull charged Carl Esch, 19, son of Henry Esch of West Broad street, with dis orderly conduct for hurling vile names at her and with assault on her small son. Both cases set for Monday. Also listed: five Beagle puppies, three months old, at 8 each located at 325 Washington avenue corner Harrison street.
The Light and Hope Missionary society conducts daytime tent meetings in a vacant lot south of 218 in the park area to reach non churchgoers. Two enormous Brown Lorain ore cranes were damaged by a steel hopper car loaded with ore that careened down a slope after a broken brake chain. The car struck the hoist legs near the south No 10 leg, toppling and rendering the crane useless. no injuries were reported.
