John Reedy a 40ish farmer from near Nickel Plate sustained serious injuries after falling from a westbound Cleveland and Southwestern passenger car near Joneacorser on Saturday night. He suffered a broken collarbone nose and rib but began to recover by Sunday. He was treated at Oberlin by Dr Bunce and later rallied. The Elyria Golf Club plans an all meeting at Hotel Topliff this evening inviting all interested in golf.
The Plain Dealer announces a marriage license issued Sunday to Joseph R Wright of this place and Miss Mome Dogan of Cleveland.
William Port assistant superintendent of the Western Southern Life Insurance Company Norwalk died after a short illness. Port was among the Norwalk residents injured in the O B and W electric railway wreck near Henrietta five miles west of Oberlin and his death is claimed to be the direct result of that accident. He had survived several railroad wrecks.
Erhart Strictwater shipped two oar loads for cattle to Cleveland last week. Albert Law visited in Cleveland with his sister. Miss B Month of Lorain hosted Mrs B Speith. JF Harry attended to business Monday. Wm Schultz of Bridgeport and Bertha Johnson of Malist Creek spent time with relatives. A Demmer of Lorain visited family and friends. Kaiserin added a large extension to his dwelling. Mrs L A Worcester stayed with Mrs Seinderman. Jack Smith joined J Hauty and will move his family from Detroit. Mrs A Spieth, Mr Erhard, and Mrs L Neff are under doctor care. J A Humm sold 460 dozen eggs in three days. Mrs Milla and Irene visited Medina recently.
Oscar Nau, a young farmer living a mile east of Berlin Heights, dug up over 9200 in old coins dated as far back as 1840. The farm, once Jeremiah Thorpe’s, passed to his son, then rented out. a long rumor of hidden money persisted until Nau’s discovery a rusted kettle containing coins and several octagonal gold pieces said to be minted in California in the early 1850s.

Annie Works, seven, suffered severe burns in Elyria when her clothing ignited while alone. She died Friday at her grandparents home in Cleveland after being moved from a hospital. Her mother Louisa Works, now a widow, had entrusted her care to a well known Elyria family months earlier.

W J Hillier and Henry Freitricks acquire the entire interest of the Reublin brothers in the T Hotel Andwar Elyria. Hillier resigns as superintendent of the Cleveland and Southwestern Traction Co to devote full time to hotel management. The deal follows the death of Arthur Reublin and is celebrated as a trusted local business change.
The United States grand jury in Cleveland refused to indict John Ray arrested in Toledo on suspicion of involvement in the Garrettsville postoffice robbery. Ray’s father claimed the dead robber was not Alonzo Blair, though he denied knowing the dead man’s identity. Mrs Wilkinson, linked to the case, was not Clara Ray and has since disappeared.
