John Reedy a 40ish farmer from near Nickel Plate sustained serious injuries after falling from a westbound Cleveland and Southwestern passenger car near Joneacorser on Saturday night. He suffered a broken collarbone nose and rib but began to recover by Sunday. He was treated at Oberlin by Dr Bunce and later rallied. The Elyria Golf Club plans an all meeting at Hotel Topliff this evening inviting all interested in golf.

Victim of Wrecks Dies in Norwalk
William Port assistant superintendent of the Western Southern Life Insurance Company Norwalk died after a short illness. Port was among the Norwalk residents injured in the O B and W electric railway wreck near Henrietta five miles west of Oberlin and his death is claimed to be the direct result of that accident. He had survived several railroad wrecks.

Farmer Uncovers Buried Treasure Near Berlin Heights
Oscar Nau, a young farmer living a mile east of Berlin Heights, dug up over 9200 in old coins dated as far back as 1840. The farm, once Jeremiah Thorpe’s, passed to his son, then rented out. a long rumor of hidden money persisted until Nau’s discovery a rusted kettle containing coins and several octagonal gold pieces said to be minted in California in the early 1850s.

Ground was broken Thursday for a new Presbyterian church at 12th Avenue and Seneca Street. The pressed brick exterior with stone trimmings and oak interior will feature two large Sunday school rooms a kitchen dining room ladies parlor and a large auditorium. Estimated cost around 7000 with most already subscribed. Memorial windows planned and completion expected within nine days.
