Reverend Stangle, in charge of four Adamsville area U B churches, plans a union farewell service at Island Park next Sunday after a 2:30 pm address for youth by Bourbon College president and a 3 pm farewell to Rev. Stangle. A baptismal service at 4 pm will follow with Rev. L M Bender as chairman and J C Bay conducting music.

Two claims were filed this morning by St. Joseph Valley Bank against the Johnson estates. One against Col. R. M. Johnson for 4129.11 on a 6100 note of 1901 at eight percent interest. The Guy C. Johnson estate faces a claim of 2087.33. The R. M. Johnson estate is valued at about 25000 when settled.
Isaac Lehman and Charles Hickocks trading as Lehman and M Hickocks file a circuit court complaint seeking 5320 or 332? They demand 500 for loss of two consignments of latent medicine valued at 332. The suit names Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway Company as defendant.
At today's meeting it was decided that at least two evenings be devoted to Indiana week in each township to support Sunday school work. The county convention will be held October 17 and 18 with the place to be set by the executive committee. Officials urge all Sunday school forces to unite for a record year.
A meeting at Hotel Bucklen in Elkhart discussed forming a company to build an electric railway to South Bend. H. B. Bucklen and James H. State met three South Bend men led by Bryson to seek financial backing, but Bucklen reserved judgment until the South Bend group secured a franchise and ability to proceed.
A Michigan and Indiana Traction representative reports all right of way for an electric railway from Kalamazoo to Elkhart has been secured or contracted. The route passes Kalamazoo Vicksburg Three Rivers Constantine White Pigeon Mottville Bristol and terminates in Elkhart with potential connections to a Chicago South Bend line. Construction is let to a New York firm and slated for this fall, though completion date remains uncertain.

The annual Sunday school council meeting occurred in Goshen this afternoon with Hikhart attendees including Mrs. D. W. Thomas Mrs Walter Bond and T J Juday. Rally day is September 8. Schools unable to prepare by the date should choose a suitable alternative date.

By a unanimous vote the South Bend council suspended the rules and revoked the Indiana Railway company's perpetual and unlimited franchise over the city streets and alleys. Judge Baker's Loganport decision against perpetual franchises influenced the move to allow competing lines to build. A new line seeks a franchise from South Bend to Hickhart.
Fifteen members of the county board of education met in annual session at Supt. Geo. W. Ellis office. Trustees agreed to gather on the first Monday of each month at the county superintendent office for a literary program and discussion of school topics.
A report states Phillip B. Miller of a farm five miles southwest of the city was gored by a bull. William Burton, a well known local butcher, witnessed the encounter with no serious damage noted. The bull was dragged away by Miller’s son and a man named Everett.
