A five year old son of dairyman George Forrey was attacked by a neighbor's dog about two miles north of the city. The animal bit his face tearing flesh and masticating it while holding him helpless. Found near death the boy remains in critical condition with severe disfigurement feared. Reports say he may not survive.
On May 17 a simple ceremony occurred at the Tuileries La Fayette monument. Haines Egbert of Goshen with his wife and daughter Lillian, and Miss Beulah Krader placed a wreath with a card from Dear Little People in America Room 8 High School Building Goshen Indiana Miss Burns Teacher.

The Indiana Barbers' association will organize in Muncie on Wednesday May 21 to seek state wide sanitary barbering reforms. May 19 near Aboite Allen county Indiana a shooting affray left Rev Lassiter dying after Ferman Smith an Roanoke insurance agent allegedly insulted Mrs Lassiter during a visit. A quarrel with Lassiter’s husband followed Smith shot Lassiter twice and fled but was captured by neighbors. deputy sheriffs from Huntington intervened preventing a lynching. Smith badly beaten and may not recover. he was once a state legislator.
An obituary notes the death of a longtime Lake Shore railroad company employee described as one of the oldest servants in continuous service. The report emphasizes his lengthy tenure and steadfast loyalty to the railroad.
A Civil War veteran, receiving a disability pension, dies leaving a wife and one son named Charles Bender of this city. He also leaves four sisters—two in Elkhart—two brothers, and a mother over ninety. Funeral likely Wednesday morning.
Bristol democrats groom Charles Aitken of Goshen for county auditor. Aitken, manager at Thomas Allbright & Co., Goshen, served two terms in the auditor's office by appointment of George Milburn. He is not seeking the nomination but would accept if offered.
H B Kelly and Mamie Whis le were married last night and left today for Iowa on a wedding trip. Mr Kelly is connected with the Kelly foundry.
Oliver J. Marty aged 23 and Della May Rohrer aged 24 of Clinton Township have been issued a marriage license. The announcement lists both parties as the applicants and confirms the filing in Clinton Township records.

Mrs Elizabeth Bulhand, 68, died last night of paralysis at her Cass county home ten miles north of the city. Widow of James S. Bulhand, she leaves two sons Cyrus J. and Will E. Bulhand. Funeral tomorrow at 10 a.m. from Ashley church with interment at Five Points.
Elk Hart defeated Adamsville 14 to 13 at Simonton Lake on Sunday. Batteries were Gard and Searles for Elk Hart and Van Houten and Swan for Adamsville. Over 400 fans from Elk Hart and nearby watched the tight baseball battle.
Fred Warner declares he is the heir sought to share an aunt’s estate in Greenville Michigan valued at 85000 dollars. He says five heirs will divide the property between his three sisters and one brother. Two sisters live in Bay City Michigan, another in Gennesseo South Dakota, and a brother in Grand Rapids.
Markel Goodman aged 47 died this morning from a stroke suffered last Friday while walking in his yard. He had seemed improved last night. He leaves a wife, father, and brother. Goodman earned a living selling medicine across the country.
