A Boy’s Sad Plight in Elkhart and Goshen
Ten year old Floyd Stifler told police at Elkhart he was abandoned by his father Dennis Stifer after the man left him outside a saloon Saturday morning. The boy walked two miles east to a pile of burning ties near the Lake Shore tracks and spent the night there before returning to Goshen and reporting to a watchman at Main Street. Officer Miller then took custody. the boy’s home is listed as 208 North Highth Street, Goshen.

Runaway Wrecked Buggy After Hitch Cut Near Church
A horse owned by W M Stiner tied near the M E church on Franklin street ran away after its hitching strap was cut. The horse struck a telephone pole on Main street, wrecking the buggy shafts top and a front wheel.
