Three youths charged in brutal assault on Glenn Miller
Fortunatus Miller of Northeast Elkhart swore affidavits charging Newton Bruner Marty Harrington and Clarence Rowley with assault on his nine year old son Glenn Miller. The boy lay dangerously ill with possible internal injuries and infection risk. Police arrested Brunner Jowles and Harrington after locating them this afternoon.

Collins in Custody After Stolen Horse and Carriage
Edward Collins was arraigned before Judge Blake, waived examination, and sent to circuit court with bond set at 300. He claimed drunkenness at the time of the theft. County Council Approves Bridge Funds in Goshen Session
County council met in Goshen at the auditor's office and appropriated 32,800 to build two bridges Bristol and Waterford with a sidewalk on each. Auditor Berkey was authorized to borrow 22,800 for construction and County Attorney Vail ruled the race bridge public property the county must maintain.

Cow Killed by Interurban Car Near South Bend
An interurban car leaving South Bend just after midnight struck a cow owned by Dairyman Gernhart between Twin Branch and South Bend. The animal died moments after impact from three broken legs and crushed ribs. The cow had escaped confinement after its calf was moved the day before, running onto the track.
