Hard fought Wickwire ward boundary dispute in Marshall Circuit Court adjourned to Friday noon. Special Judge Kellison hinted ruling against remonstrants as both sides add witnesses, with a decision expected tomorrow on whether seventeen signers belong to the First ward or Third ward.
Realty owners and suburban lot sellers resist Butler’s plan as they argue city annexation brings higher taxes and costs. They claim better water pressure and electrical service can be privately provided and prefer to remain outside city limits, citing cheaper utilities and freedom from city monopolies.
C G Conn inventor and maker of the Conn cornet left Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon with George Reim and A A Wilson of Elkhart. The Elkhart trio toured from Elkhart to Salt Lake City by automobile and planned for San Francisco as the final destination. In Salt Lake City they were hosted by Fifteenth United States Infantry at Fort Douglas and Held’s band gave a concert at the Cullen hotel. The trip was a pleasure tour with no records sought and no set arrival time for the Pacific coast.

A streetcar collision southbound on Cleveland Avenue and Jefferson Street dragged a drag driven by Ray Thompson after a switch misadjusted by a passing construction crew caused the crash. The horses were injured, one with a severe leg wound. Thompson and the crew were uninjured. The car’s controller had become disconnected, and the vehicle dragged a short distance before stopping.
A June report from London says a typhoon off West Australia sank forty boats from the pearl fishing fleet. The loss of life is not yet known but it is believed that no man from the 270 crew survived.
Chicago June 4 The Republican National Committee opens pre convention work with daily sessions. About 200 contests are filed for seats in the national convention, covering whole state and territorial delegations.
Isabel Bougart daughter of the late Hallet Kilbourne of Elkhart and an interpreter in the Congressional Library died in Washington D C today. The 45 year old was found dead in bed at her sister Georgia K Gordon's home after traveling to the city. An aunt Mrs M D Adams of Edwardsburg Avenue was notified.
A would be assassin fired at Major Alfred Dreyfus near President Fallieres during the Zola Pantheon interment ceremony in Paris. The attack inflamed anti Semitic tensions as editors and political figures blamed the Dreyfus affair for rekindling France's deep divisions and stern reactions from anti Dreyfus outlets.
