Liquor seized reportedly belonged to patrons. Fayette County Attorney Everett Scott said evidence would go to the September grand jury, youths likely placed on probation.

The 24th annual Duff Dempster reunion gathered 74 people at Volga park on Sunday. A program featured singing by Dewey Thompson and Mrs. Les lie Seedorff, remarks on Saint Andrews day in Volga, and musical numbers by Mrs. Ruth Thomson and Earl Peterman. Election of officers named Grace Brooks as president and Anta Dempster as vice president with a see’y treas. The gathering also noted marriages births and deaths, with attendees from multiple Iowa communities and plans to meet next year in Arlington park.
The state crippled children program will hold a field clinic at the Methodist church in Oelwein on Thursday September 17 serving Bremer Buchanan Clayton and Fayette counties. The event is among 34 planned in 1953 to provide diagnostic and consultation services to crippled children under 21 referred by local doctors. Last year Oelwein hosted two clinics with twenty eight area physicians referring children.

George Boyle returned Wednesday from the University Hospital at Iowa City where he had minor surgery. Mrs. Carl Torkelson returned home Friday from Decorah where she had x rays and examinations at the Decorah hospital. M A Boyer went to Iowa City Tuesday to enter Veterans' hospital for a check up. Mrs Joe V Scheider was a medical patient at St Josephs hospital New Hampton last week.
