The Elgin Echo Dial is published weekly on Thursdays by Etrauch & Hermanen from 3111 Elgin Iowa. It is entered as second class mail at the Elgin post office in Fayette County Iowa under the 1852 act, with a historic Sept. 1 1891 filing.

Shirley Kay Reusser daughter of Mrs William Reusser Elgin married Robert Dale Mueller son of Mr and Mrs Carl Mueller Farmersburg in a candle light ceremony at St Pauls Methodist Church Elgin The Rev E G Steinman officiated at eight pm organist Willis Schultz presided The bride wore eau de soie gown with lace detailing and a fingertip veil The couple exchanged vows before an altar of palms and white candelabra with a five minute prelude and songs by Sara Ogle of Elgin and Love’s Offering The bride was escorted by her cousin William Howard Jr Maid of honor Mary C Holger RN Rochester MN wore bronze crystalline gown
The wedding of the Rochester couple featured emerald crystalline gowns for bridesmaids and a bronze emerald color scheme. Guests included 175 at a church reception with a three tiered cake. The bride and groom, both from Iowa towns, planned to reside on a farm near Clermont after a brief trip.

Lois Jean Wettleson and Raymond C. Schnuelle united in marriage at Marion Lutheran Church Gunder in a candle light ceremony. Officiated by Dr J. Strandford, the service featured pink and white decor and a classical program with organist Corrine Rypestol and singer Arthur Amundson. The bride wore a French lace nylon gown with a lace jacket and Juliet cap. Attendants included matron of honor Mrs Charles Anderson and bridesmaids Miss Geraldine Landsgard and Miss Judy Schnuelle. Groom’s party wore black with white carnations. A reception for 275 followed with a four tier cake and floral decor.
Randine Hanson and Sandra Bilden oversaw the gifts as Mr. and Mrs. Schnuelle departed for a trip to the Bad Lands and Black Hills. The couple plan to reside on a farm north of Postville. Out of town guests hailed from St. Paul and Stillwater Minnesota Clinton Waterloo McGregor Farmersburg Elkader Arlington Elgin Clermont Decorah Postville and Castalia.
Elgin and surrounding area social activity is summarized with visits from Decorah Marion Dubuque and Ames residents. numerous family reunions birthday celebrations and homecomings. baptisms and church events. and regional travel to Chicago Waterloo and Fayette. Several local families host dinners and guest lists include Schori Olson Schultz and Hackmann families among others. Buy special forks to load baled hay into the barn.
Thanks go to the Elgin businessmen for flowers and to the Elgin High School Band and director for their part in the celebration. Congratulatory telegrams and messages were appreciated, but over 500 friends and neighbors visiting made the event a real success.
