Manganese Inventory Could Boost U S Steel Output
Statisticians in New York estimate that 14 pounds of manganese are needed per ton of steel. They say Cuba's 100,000 ton year end manganese stock could enable production of 16,000,000 tons or more than one half of the 1939 U.S. output, cutting costs to compete with foreign producers at current prices.
