Tlyria Clipperettes October Meeting

The October meeting of the Dlyria Clipperettes 4-H Club convened at Syria Church with hostesses Gail Light and Jeri Martin. Annette Meyer presided, minutes were read, and officers from last year were installed. New members joined and initiation teams introduced, with awards for best year books and a Standard 4-H Club certificate. The group elected to switch to Saturday meetings. next session is November 11 at 1 30 pm with Jacqueline Schori and Wanda Martin coordinating activities.

Pleasant Valley Homemakers Club Meeting Recaps

The Pleasant Valley Homemakers met at Mrs Edward Kmeger s home on Friday Oct 20 with seventeen members and two visitors present. Activities included devotions, a Farm Bureau song, reports on books read and health, world news, and cultural living. Officers were elected. A Hold Fast banquet at Marion Lutheran Church was announced with Rev Bruce Boyce as speaker.

Five youths receive into Marion Lutheran Church Communing membership at Gunder in a Rite of Confirmation scheduled for Reformation Sunday October 23 during the o clock worship. Pastor Henry J. Mathie will preach on One Holy Catholic Church. Confirmands and parents listed include Betty Jane Hanson Richard Curtis Reierson Betty Jane Sanderson James Paul Sanderson and Gerald Tillman Thompson. Thursday night October 26 the confirmants and parents will be honored at a par- ty.

4 H Girls Hold Mother Daughter Tea in Fayette County

Fayette County 4 H celebrated its annual mother mother daughter tea with more than 300 attendees including 4 H members mothers and friends Beverly Morse the county 4 H president and Mrs Marvin Ingels chaired the program Recipients of outstanding records included Nancy Grimes Barbara Mulford Gloria Dobbs Annette Meyer Judy Mann Beverly Morse Judy Langerman and Sandra Lauer Poultry project recognitions went to Barbara Mulford Iva Feller and Beatrice Brannon Garden project honors went to Judy James Kathy Adams and Beatrice Brannon Guests then enjoyed a tea table arranged by county officers with Merle Bovis Mrs Marvin Ingels and Beverly Morse serving.

Elgin Lutheran Church Women Meet in Fellowship Hall

The Elgin Lutheran Church Women met October 19 in the fellowship hall with hostesses Pearl Johnson John Erickson Richard Erickson Floyd Thompson Selmer Groth Max Hunsberger and Clara Hellum. Ushers were Orvin Thompson and Wm Friederich. Marjorie Reed was pianist and devotions were from Nehemiah with lesson How Often Shall I Pray. Officers announced by Mrs Elmer Meyer include nominating committee chair Wm Moore.

Funkes from Gridley visit Ida Pulfer in Pekin Wisconsin

Elgin local news reports Mr. and Mrs. Roy Funk of Gridley D1 staying overnight with Mrs. Ida Pulfer and driving her to Pekin Wisconsin where she works for the winter. Leonard West and family from Hiawatha joined Lawrence West's home for a weekend visit. A birthday dinner honored Charles Muehlethaler on his 10th birthday with many relatives as guests.
