Oscar Seumgartner known as Pat, born August 2, 1887 on a farm near Elgin, died October 8 at his Elgin area farm after years of heart trouble. He never married and is survived by three brothers and a sister, with a large extended family. Funeral held at Myria church with burial in Apostolic cemetery. relatives from many towns attended, and a card of thanks followed.

Farmers report big potato yields with late varieties planted in July and a Canning Factory near Elgin employing about thirty workers after starting carrot canning this year. A hill yielded 46 potatoes filling a ten quart pail. The newly formed school band directed by Rudolph Jorgenson gave its first public appearance in town prior to a football game.
