Commodity Price Index Advances

Iowa's index of prices received by farmers for all farm products rose 2 points in the month ending Sept 15, reaching 288 per cent of the 1910-14 base. The gain came mainly from a 1 cent per bushel rise in corn, with higher beef prices offset by lower calf and lamb values. The livestock and products index stayed at 298 per cent as dairy, poultry, and egg gains did not offset the steady meat-animal index.
