National 4-H Week marks 25th anniversary with focus on conservation work by 4-H clubs worldwide. Frank Mendell notes youths learn about natural wealth, create bird sanctaries, beautification projects, and farm conservation across plots and backyards. Clara Muehlethaler entertained the Friendship Birthday Club on Tuesday in September. Attendees included Mrs. Bertha ochaain, Metta Kroeger, Ida Christen, Leon Shepard, Ida Cummings, Grace Evans, George Vaughn, Anne Howard, Ed Boleyn, Hulda Nydegger, Mrs. Lee Rey Collins and Mrs. Dean De Sart. Mrs. R. P. Strauch sent a gift but could not attend.
Mr and Mrs Roger Frieden entertained Saturday for supper and a card party. Guests included Mr and Mrs Ronald Loftsgard Mr and Mrs Date Seitz and Mr and Mrs Larry Butikofer. Mrs Ronald Loftsgard and Date Seitz won the high prizes.
The PEO Sisterhood held a Monday meeting and luncheon at the home of Mrs. C B Schori attended by Georgia May Schori Mrs Walter Messer and Mrs D Le Wand West chapter DB participated.
Sunny Date Club met on September 26 with LaVerne Le bers and Mrs. LaVe in attendance. The group discussed events for the upcoming season and planned a social program for members and guests.
