Nominating and cookie committees were announced for June, hostesses named, and the meeting closed with the prayer for peace.
Notice resolution directs all landowners in Fayette County to cut burn or destroy noxious weeds on lands under their control pursuant to Chapter 317 Code of Iowa 1962. The Board of Supervisors requires action by owners and possessors to suppress weed growth.

Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Anderson observed their 26th wedding anniversary Sunday May 20 with an open house at their farm home from 2 to 4 p m About 300 relatives and friends called to extend congratulations.
Friday afternoon visits at the Charles Ericksons home included Mr and Mrs Myroff Chapman and Brad from West Union dropped by Sunday evening at the Roscoe Latoon home. Mrs Ellen Mason attended a World War I Veterans and Auxiliary dinner at Maynard. Edwin Hanson was a dinner guest Sunday at the Will Frie derich home. Diane Janice and Donald Hanson visited Tuesday evening at Mrs Ellen Mason home.
Mr and Mrs Allen Habeger spent Sunday at the home of their son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Eugene Habeger with the usual family warmth and welcome in a quiet afternoon gathering.
Cheery Valley and Guttenberg residents hosted and visited over the weekend. Willis Currier and family joined Roscoe Larson’s household for a Saturday luncheon, with Elkader guests Frank Peake and family stopping by Sunday evening. Russell Larson family were guests Monday evening, and the Wm Dennler family dined with Albert Dennler’s family on Sunday. Edwin Hanson visited Frank Christen Sunday morning, while the Fred Trafelet Jr. family from Hawkeye spent Sunday afternoon with Silas Butikefer.
The Habegers and family attended the 1962 Spring Recital for YWCA students at McKinley Junior High School in Cedar Rapids. Susan Habegger studied there while relatives visited Manchester and stayed with the Puffetts and Mueller. William Bacon and family attended MF L graduation exercises in Luana with Richard Bacon a class member.
