Senior Visit Veishea drew twenty four seniors with sponsor Mrs. Wenger and parents to Town State College Ames for high school day. Open houses showcased fields at the college including mechanical engineering sports cars and a stock market ticker display. The Veishea events featured Stars Over Veishea Veishea Vodvil and Veishea Rodeo with bull riding calf roping and vaudeville skits.

Commencement exercises for Elgin High School seniors are set for Friday May 20 at 8 00 p m in the high school gym with Dr Eugene E Garbee president of Upper Iowa University as speaker The school picnic will be held at noon the same day and will close the 1954 school year.

Oelwein Teen Road-E-O Promises Prizes and National Contest

Teen-agers will test driving skills in a 1955 automobile at the Oelwein Teen Age Road-E-O with prizes for winners. Winners may advance to the state contest and then to the national contest in Washington, D C. Participants in the national contest will enjoy a week of activities in Washington with planned events and opportunities.

Illand Hospitalized At Postville Hospital

Mrs. Bertha Kiple was taken to the Postville hospital Saturday for treatment. At Iowa City Hospital, Sylvan Torkelson went to Iowa City Sunday to enter the University hospital for observation. Mrs. Torkelson took him there. Surgery at West Union, Mrs. Arthur Chapman returned home from the West Union hospital Sunday, May 8, after being hospitalized about a week following surgery.
