Bertha Celia Kohler Kiple, aged 83, died Friday at Postville hospital after a year of declining health. Born near Elgin November 1, 1871, she lived all her life there with husband Noah Webster Kiple, a carpenter. Survived by four children Nelle Reusser Fatl, Flossie How ard, two sisters and four children, she was honored for her quiet strength and devoted family. The Women’s Guild of the Presbyterian Church entertained guests James Probert Mrs Jease Langford and Mrs Mabel Johnson as hostesses. Sixteen members answered roll call with a Bible verse.
