Card of Thanks one dollar and In Memoriam cards one dollar up to ten lines. Additional lines cost five cents each. resolutions of respect and obituary poetry follow regular advertising rates.
Wadena Cub Pack 120 held a April 24 meeting in the Wadena school gym. The flag ceremony was led by John Light, David Dennler and Duanne Hermen. Cubmaster Bernard Roys introduced leaders and Webeloes performed the pledge and song while demonstrating Scout Law and knots. New members Russell Medberry, Duane Hermen, Lonny Matthiesen, James Fox and Mike Roys received Bobcat pins. Duane Hermen earned Denner Stripe. Pine Wood Derby winners were Duane Hermen, John Light, and Greg Halverson. Plans for Scout-o-rama trip and town clean-up were discussed. May will include Good-Will Project clothing and toy donations. Guests included Edwin Loftsgard, David Aylsworth, Joe Olson, and Roger Pointer. Lunch was provided by local families.
James Cook spent the past weekend in Dubuque and attended Loras College homecoming events on May 4 and 5. The weekend included an alumni banquet and the musical The Music Man.
The Tabitha Society of the Baptist Church entertained at a mother daughter program held today Wednesday with theme Say It With Flowers. Prelude by Mrs Leo Lehman and Congregational hymn O Master Let Me Walk With Thee. Welcome by president Mrs Lorence Muehlethaler. Devotions led by Mrs Ross James.

Group singing in German featured a Reading entitled Women Who Make History by Mrs. Leo Lehman and a Congregational hymn Faith of Our Mothers. Selected poems by Mrs. Hugo Hackmann were followed by solos by Mrs. Clarence Muehlthaler and a skit Say It With Flowers by Mdms. Fred Schaer Raymond Boleyn John Schaer Harold Orth Lester Wenger Carlton Krueger Wilma Probert. A duet by Mrs Selmer Erickson and Mrs Edward Krueger. Prayer by Mrs Lorence Muehlthaler. Hostesses Molma Archie Schroeder Carlton Krueger Lester Wenger Ed Boleyn Lena Wenger Metta Krueger. Program committee Mrs Ross James Mrs Raymond Boleyn and Mrs George Breitkreuz. Lunch served after.

Marcia Knudtson hosted the Methodist Youth Fellowship Sunday evening at her home with sixteen members present along with Russell Goodell and the Rev. Lee Roy Collins. The group studied The Sermon on the Mount and the hostess served lunch.
Fifteen new St. Pauls Church members led by Rev and Mrs Lee Roy Collins toured Meth-Wick Manor St Luke's Hospital and the cemetery at Cedar Memorial Park. They viewed Lovely Lane site and were hosted at a coffee by Rev Donald Caspers and family before returning home.
The Women's Missionary Union of the Baptist Church met last Wednesday afternoon at Mrs Selmer Erickson's home with assist ing hostess Mrs Metta Krueger. Opening hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness followed by Bible readings. Rev George Breitkreuz read Romans chapter 13. A prayer period preceded contributions by Mrs John Schaer Ed Boleyn Metta Krueger Archie Schroeder Harry Johnson and Edward Krueger as well as Miss Edna Miller.
Mrs. Fred Butikofer Mrs. Harry Everett Mrs. Dwayne Frieden Mrs. Robert Chapman and Mrs. Glen Medberry attended the third annual Decorah Conference at Luther College on Friday. Dr. Dorothy E Haas of Minneapolis and Dr. Rolf Syrdal of Decorah spoke as three hundred eighty five women attended. Dinner was served in the college cafeteria.
Pastor C T Fjelstul marked his 30th ordination anniversary at Elgin Lutheran Church with a Sunday program. The event featured greetings from church and community members, a musical program, solos, readings, and a formal reception in the church parlor followed by lunch hosted by the women’s groups.
The Social Hour Club held its guest day on May 2 at the Tyria Church basement with hostesses Mrs. Herbert Ash and Mrs. Virgil Miles. Nineteen members brought guests, each received a ribbon rose, and attendees named their favorite flower. No business meeting occurred. The program opened with a hymn led by all participants.
