Mrs Kathrine Bidne born in Voss Norway March 1 1861 died March 22 1950 at the home of Mr and Mrs Harold Opsand She came to the United States at age seven settling in Winneshiek county She married Peter S Bidne December 12 1884 Nine children were born with two dying in infancy Her husband died in 1926 Surviving are sons Sander Joseph Clarence and Knut Bidne and daughters Mrs Lars Siem Decorah Mrs Harold Opland Elgin and Mrs T M Rickansrud San Luis Obispo California Eleven grandchildren two great grandchildren and two brothers Peter and Ole Bidne Highlandville Funeral services were held Sunday March 26 at Big Canoe church near Decorah Burial followed in the cemetery there.
