Louis L. Wenger born October 1 1983 in Elgin died March 17 at Postville hospital at age seventy one. He lived his life on the family farm five miles southeast of Elgin from age three until death and worked with his mother and later his brother Edward on the farm. He attended rural school Elgin High School one year and completed business administration at Upper Iowa University Fayette. He was predeceased by his father mother and a brother John. he is survived by nine brothers and four sisters.
Herbert Jacobson 46 formerly of West Union dies in a snowstorm crash while piloting a light plane en route to Pittsburgh to fetch luggage. He had moved to Sun City Arizona four years earlier and served in World War II. Survived by wife Mary Hanson, father Edwin, three sisters, and a brother in the Army. Body returned to West Union for burial.

Control advised by spraying seedings with 11 2 pounds DDT or 1 4 pound dieldrin per acre in a 10 gallon water mix.
