Iowa farmers expect spring sow farrowings from December through May to reach 2,035,000 head, 6 percent above 1954 and marking the fourth largest spring farrowings in 26 years. The 1955 spring totaled 2,038,000 head, up 2 percent from the 1949-53 five-year average and 7 percent above the 1944-53 ten-year average.
