Assured of Ballot in Coming Elections
Overseas voting plans advance under a governor appointed commission. A nine by twelve inch ballot could fit weight limits for overseas packages and prompts discussion on nationwide lighter ballots. Soldiers abroad favor easy voting with minimal red tape to back home voters, while primary filing closes Friday and Senator Guy M. Gillette confirms re election. Local political history contrasts with 1944 campaigns as Wearin forms a new party over the New Deal. Fraternity housing at the University of Iowa may be halted for Army STP students arriving soon.
