Funeral services were held Friday at the Elgin Baptist church for Mrs Joan Falb aged eighty. Rev. Ludwig and Dr Ittermann officiated. She was born in Aderalba Germany on December 21 1872 and came to America at eleven. She and John Falb lived in Elgin. six children survived. She was active in church and community groups and celebrated 58th wedding anniversary in 1952. She is survived by her husband five children fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Out of town guests came from many nearby towns.

The Grand Meadow Larks meet at Eileen Block's home on March 2 with twelve members and two leaders attending. Members shared progress toward citizenship and planned 4-H uniform preparations and Rally Day for June 6. Kathleen McNeil and several mothers visited as a program featured Angel Food Cake by Fileen Black and Cup Cakes by Janet Heins.
The Social Hour Club met on March 4 and will gather again April 1 at the home of Mrs Orren Bane. The Iowa Safety Council responded to a questionnaire on driving license age, with 11 year olds deemed too young.
