Kloster Larson wedding vows unite Marilyn Kloster and Arthur Larson

Miss Marilyn Kloster and Arthur D. Larson were married at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on February 26 at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. I H Vallem officiated. Poisoned by Fly Killer Toy Candy in Pleasantville

Two year old Janet Mae Evans of Pleasantville ingested a small amount of poisonous fly killer thinking it candy. She was rushed to the hospital and later recovered nicely.

Study Club Met Mrs Belva Snyder Hosts Elgin Club

Mrs Belva Snyder hosted the Elgin Study Club last Tuesday. Members discussed the United Nations panel with Beverly Howard and Donna Meinhard. Delegates to the county convention were elected and the group pledged donations to the library music fund and other causes. A large cross on Bald Knob Mountain near Cairo Ill was described as a future unity project with shrines and public access. Next meeting at Mrs H H Wolf, with officer elections and a youth talent act.

The first annual Upper Iowa University Speech Festival on campus drew about 100 high school entrants from Wadena Clermont Elgin Luana Garnaville Strawberry Point Arlington Hawkeye Independence. A. J. Black, aged 89, died recently leaving a life largely spent on a Riverton farm. He spent the remaining five years on a farm west of Hamburg, marking a long rural career in farming communities.

Mr and Hospitalized School Janitor Tl. John O. Anderson is confined to his fame with the mumps. David Christen, son of Mr and Mrs Will Christen, was taken to the Postville hospital Sunday evening for observation and medical treatment.
