Dwarf HS farmer sells dwarf bull near Frankville

Kiesau of near Frankville recently sold a dwarf bull described as a black Angus weighing 715 pounds and about three feet tall though fully grown. The bull was noted to have been about the size of a woodchuck at birth.

Letter from Dr. Wolfs recounts travels across Texas and Southwest

Dr and Mrs Wolf write from Tucson in late February 1950 about a Houston trip and a long southern journey. They describe visits to San Antonio including the Alamo, Carlsbad Caverns, Vegalis Arizona, Nogales Mexico, and a Mexico dinner. Lost Foot From Granary Grind Accident

A 20 year old Obeyedan man Charles Bosma slipped while crawling into a granary and became entangled in a grind machine. His right foot was amputated to save his life.

Boy Scout News Elgin Scouts Hold Court of Honor

Thursday evening February 23 a Court of Honor for Elgin Fayette West Union and Clermont scouts was held at Elgin High School gym. The program included invocation procession of colors national anthem awards and talks on the National Jamboree. Scouts received second and tenderfoot ranks and plans were made to send delegates to the National Jamboree and Valley Forge. An annual meeting was announced for March 9 at West Union cafe with further trip plans to Fayette March 13.

Shotgun Accident Seriously Injures Child Near Monticello

A six year old boy, Melvin Bohiken, was seriously hurt after he and his brother found a 410 shotgun and fired at close range. The blast struck his left hip from an unknown distance, injuring him badly while at home near Monticello.
