James Bailey spent the weekend in Waterloo with his wife and daughter Verlie while Hattie McKellar visited L. W. McKellar. Mrs. John Berndt and daughter Irma of Fayette were in Elgin on business last Thursday. A midsummer note marks June 21 as the longest day with questions about daylight length. Various Fayette residents and neighbors are mentioned traveling, visiting relatives, and attending funerals in nearby towns. Lyle Krueger suffered a crushed elbow and arm from a pony accident, requiring x rays and stitches after a fall at the Tofield Heck home.
