Misunderstandings on contracted acres clarified
Misunderstandings persist about contracted acres allowances for crops. Field corn cannot be planted on contracted acres while soybeans sudan grass millet and forage sorghums may be planted but only for hay or pasture and not for grain or seed. Several named forage sorghums may be planted in rows broadcast or drilled. Planting of field corn on non contracted acres was limited to June 9 and the corn may be cut for fodder only. The Agricultural Adjustment Administration district pays when fodder corn is cut. Official rulings come from state corn hog committees.
