Relatives gathered Sunday at the Theo Loftsgard home to honor graduates in the Loftsgard family. Riverside Social Club Meets at Olson Home
The Riverside Social club gathered Wednesday afternoon at Mrs. Marjorie Olson’s home with co hostess Mrs. Margie Boyle. Twelve members and six guests attended as they sang, shared scripture reading by Ardis Olson, and celebrated Eleanor Olson’s birthday. Members sewed, visited, exchanged feed sacks, then enjoyed lunch served by the hostesses.

Halvorsons Travel South for Daughter's UNM Graduation
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Halvorson left Tuesday for Albuquerque to attend their daughter Helen Halvorson’s graduation from the University of New Mexico. They will continue with Helen to El Paso to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Camp and family, plus their sons Jackie and Stanton Halvyer. Mrs. Camp of West Union will accompany them to Des Moines.

The Clermont public school hot lunch program spent six thousand forty five dollars and forty four cents in 1947 48 across 174 operation days serving 24 207 meals averaging just over 189 per day. Costs broke down as seven percent for food four thousand forty nine dollars eighty two cents labor twenty five percent one thousand five hundred twenty three dollars sixt y cents and six percent for other expenses four hundred seventy two dollars two cents. Surplus commodities and a beef and hog inventory not included in totals. Superintendent M H Moore credits benefits to the program though long term.

Memorial Day Services Across Clermont Reach Community
Memorial day services were held at the high school gym on Sunday at two. Afterward, services moved to Clermont Cemetery where all soldiers were honored. Judge W. H. Antes of West Union spoke, prizes were awarded, and the Joseph Olson memorial plaque was decorated by the Amvet Auxiliary. The Legion and Auxiliary thanked Mrs. M. H. Moore for directing the band and aiding the program.
