Vacation guests and family visits in Postville area

Numerous relatives and friends arrive or dine with local families across Postville and surrounding towns. Guests include the Becker and Grimm families from Ottawa and Chicago, Hilary Woytash, Al Besslen, and Doris Grimm, joining local hosts for two weeks or a week long visits, with excursions to Prairie du Chien and area sites. Several local residents host dinners and entertain guests from Dubuque, Waterloo, Decorah, Estherville, Mason City, and other towns, while others travel for funerals or short holidays.

Elizabeth Friederich born February 17 1870 in Canton Bern Switzerland died June 24 1951 at 81 married Fred Friederich in January 1896 and settled east of Elgin with seven children seven grandchildren and four foster grandchildren. She joined Apostolic church and funeral services were held at Muehlethaler funeral home and Apostolic church conducted by Rev Paul Bannart.
