Town Council met in regular session at the town hall with the mayor and all councilmen present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were audited and allowed across funds including Sanitation Recreation General and Public Safety postings. several salaries, supplies, utilities, and fuel costs were approved. water for the Elgin Plant was authorized. annual library and town reports were approved. adjournment followed. A 9:00 am town hall meeting with Mayor Medberry and Councilmen Adrian Klingman Muehlethaler and Wenger discussed paying Norris Construction Co. for reject asphalt concrete used in patching Elgin streets during Highway 172 paving. No prior contract existed. a $2.00 per ton settlement for rejected material was submitted to Norris representative Mr Dick McGowen for approval.
Mr. Richard Hiatt of Kewanee Illinois won a free all expense paid weekend trip at Northernaire Lodge in Three Lakes Wisconsin for being high salesman for the first six weeks of 1963 for an Illinois insurance company. Mr and Mrs Hiatt will leave Friday March 1 with a group from Chicago and return Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Leonard Moore entertained at dinner Thursday evening for their son Lennis birthday. guests included Roger Reeder Gregory Olson David Roberts and Glen Meisner. They then took the boys to a basketball game at Valley High.

Activities include Family Living committee meeting, poultry short course, 4-H laundry clinic, extension council meeting, county 4-H basketball tournaments, soil conservation district meeting, cotton dress workshop, kitchen planning, and notable coordinators or participants at Elkader and Strawberry Point venues.

SF 94 brucellosis. SF 11 utility rates. property tax relief. IPERS bill SF 70. SF 69 real property assessments. SF 114 judicial retirement age. HF 9 higher truck speed at night. SJR 4 Jasper County prison farm. SF 37 city annexation. HF 10 implied consent bill. He urges local support, school boards, cities, and the Board of Regents for tax relief.

About 1.1 million dollars will be spent on highway construction and maintenance in Fayette County this year.
