The Clermont Lutheran Churches announce a schedule including sewing and knitting group, Jr and Sr confirmation on February 21, Sunday school at 9:30 am, worship at 10:16 am, and Sunday services on February 22 at 9:30 am and 10:30 am.
The regular meeting of a Club was held Saturday Feb 6 at Jane Andersons home Clermont County News mentions Seventies members present. A bake sale at Bettys Cafe March 6 with each girl paying 50 cents dues for a year. Nancy Nelson demonstrated Something I Can Make That My Mother Can Use. Family visits noted with R S Mack Fayette and James Taylor area residents.
Mrs Mayme Wise widow of Louis J Wise and long-time Cedar Rapids resident died at St Luke's Hospital on February 6 after a brief illness. Born in Clermont she was the daughter of Nicoli and Mary Benson and worked in Cedar Rapids after schooling there. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by a sister Alma Demory of Marion nine nieces and ten nephews. Memorial service held February 9 at Clermont Lutheran Church with Pastor W Peterson officiating. Burial followed at God’s Acres.
Neighbors hosted a surprise housewarming Thursday evening for Leo Griebenow and his wife. Attendees included the Jacobin Molokken Tague Trude Kamp Vasby Follett Mack Kohls and Richard Griebenow with gifts for the new home while others sent regrets and shared in the celebration. A picnic basket lunch and supper accompanied the event.
Mr and Mrs Eugene Butikofer entertained the Supper Club at their home Saturday evening. Present were Mr and Mrs Syl van Taylor, Mr and Mrs John Gass, and Mrs Henry Fol lett, Mr and Mrs Leland Probert and Mr and Mrs Clarence Buck dasher. Ladies' and men's high went to Mr and Mrs Follett, ladies' low to Mrs Taylor and men's low to Clarence Ruckdashel.
Mr and Mrs Elmer Schissel of Ossian announce the engagement and coming marriage of their daughter Lynn Barbara to Steven F Wolf son of Mr and Mrs Francis Wolf of Clermont Cedar Rapids. Lynn Barbara is employed by Josef s hairdressers in Iowa City Steven attends Coe College and works at Wilson s Marriage vows set for April 24 at St Francis DeSales Ossian.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Helgerson Gee announce the marriage of their daughter Carol Diane to George A Madson son of Mrs Rose Madson Cedar Rapids. The ceremony was at Our Saviors Lutheran Church February 6 at 7 30 pm conducted by Pastor Hilker. Attendants were William Hail Jr and Marlene Omar. A dinner for immediate friends and relatives followed at the Ranch Supper Club. Mrs Madion is employed with National Osis and Mr Madion.
Mr. and Mrs Medberry celebrated a wedding anniversary with guests including Mr and Mrs Walter Ash of West Union Mrs Lloyd Holtaman and Jean of Fayette Mr and Mrs Gordon Landswerk and family of Cresco and Keith Medberry The celebrants were married in a double ceremony in February 1930 Mrs Alton Medberry and Mrs Ed Medberry are daughters of Walter Ash Sr of West Union

The Busy Beavers 4-H held its February 7 meeting at East Clermont Lutheran Church. President led, Tracey Cline directed the Roll call, treasury stood at 67.85, Linda Cummings reviewed parliamentary procedure, and past leaders Mrs Lillian Reierson and Mrs Al etyewe received Trophies of Appreciation. JoAnn Olson presented a program on Portrait Gwen Connie Olson, storage boxes by Amundson and Larson, divider ideas by Amundson and Olson, with Pat and Karen Olson. Absent were Mrs Robert Renken Decorah and Mrs James Henderson. The afternoon featured cards and visiting. Lunch was served. The Palmers plan to move the last of the month to a farm near Waukon.
