The Elgin Echo of Elgin Iowa announces its weekly publication, operated by Hermen and Bartuner, with second class mail status and an 1891 registered entry. The notice cites Fayette County and adherence to the 1852 act for postal engagement.
A birthday party was hosted for Mrs Lena Wenger by her Sunday school class at the home of Mrs Metta Krueger on Thursday afternoon. Attending were numerous named guests including Mrs Clarence Kohls and Mrs Kent Nydegger plus Todd Fayette, with lunch by Mrs Lester Wenger and assistance from Mrs Krueger.
The regular Feb meeting of the Elgin Lutheran Church Women was held in the fellowship hall with Mrs. Richard Hofer, Mrs. Leslie Kleppe, Mrs. Ed Butihofer, and Clara Hellum as hostesses. Pastor Fjelstul led devotions and Mrs. Dwayne Frieden presented the lesson “The Law of Late.” Mrs. Dale Seitz was named historian book custodian. The worship offering meditation was by Mrs. Elmer ger, with three members and one guest Arthur present. The session closed with Lords Prayer and table grace.
In the District Court of Iowa for Fayette County the will dated September 8 1964 was probated on February 18 1965. Alfred B Baechler named executor requests all debts be paid and creditors file claims with the district clerk within six months from the second publication or they be forever barred. E W Hilgermann attorney for the executor, Clermont and Elgin Iowa. Second publication date March 3 1985.
The Marion ALCW met February 11 at 1 30 p m in the church parlor. The meeting opened with almin devotions and Bible study led by Mrs Harold Jpsand.
A Marion congregation unit hosted hosting duties at the Retirement Center and Aase Haugen home on January 24. A workshop occurred February 17 at Mrs Harold Op ace s home. Rigel atepaeel led an old testament quiz. A February birthday song was sung. Ushers were Mrs Harry Rude and Mrs Henry Christianson. Mediation reading by Mrs Ole Loftsgard. February hostesses were Christianson and Mrs Clarence Hilgerson. Meeting closed with the Lords Prayer and table grace.
Adolph Henry Larson age 70 died February 18 at Central Community Hospital Elkader after months of illness from strokes. Born July 20 1914 in Elkader he married Mary Ann Johnson December 28 1921. Survived by wife seven children nineteen grandchildren two great grandchildren and siblings. Funeral February 20 at Highland Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitors were Mr and Mrs ton Nelson from Frankville, Mr and Mrs Kenneth Nelson of Ossian, Mr and Mrs Henry Nelson and Mr and Mrs Elmer Nelson of Ocewein, Mr and Mrs Charles Becker of Clermont, Mr and Mrs Harlo Meyer of Sac City and Mr and Mrs Gordon Pollock.

Judy Lembke Des Moines and Mr and Mrs Elmer Lembke and Wanda attended the wedding of Mrs Lembkes niece Jane Kraus at Volga Saturday Supt and Mrs Harry Everett and Errol attended a meeting of the Library Coop.
In Cedar Falls Monday Mr and Mrs Leslie Lembke and daughter joined Wanda Lembke’s 15th birthday celebration at Elmer Lembke’s home. Lt David E Blockhus, on two week furlough, left for Minneapolis then Lackland AFB San Antonio Texas. Bartley Guler visited from Friday to Sunday for Adolph Largon’s funeral. Attending were Donald Beresford and family of Dubuque and Melvin Peterson Frankle with afternoon gatherings at Herbert Blockhus residence.
Guy C Stoddard of Jesup Iowa recently purchased seven rediseract registered Angus cows for his Angus farm.
