Kenneth A. Evans fifty three of Emerson, longtime lieutenant governor and Mills county farmer, declares a Republican candidacy for governor in 1952. Timberland acres rise in farm topic note

Farm Topics reports Town now has over 214 million acres of timberland. The 1951 edition of Know the Seed You Plant is off press and available from county extension directors. The 1951-52 high protein seed supply tops records at nearly 14 million tons, a third larger than five years ago. Bred ewes need not be housed by warm barns, a south facing shed with good drainage suffices. Government run by women is called gynarchy.
