Clifton Miller and Karl Miller will hold a closing out farm sale Friday December 10 starting at 1 o'clock. The farm lies two miles south of Clemont on the Eigin Clermont Mackay road one half mile west. Items include four hand two wattles Holstein cattle, 66 feeder pigs and farm equipment, ten yearling hens and chickens, wagon and grain. Arlington Notes farm sales service advertises the event.
Funeral rites were conducted at Elgin Cemetery Monday for Mrs Thompson, a longtime Elgin resident. Nes Thompson, daughter of Adners, of West Tennessee, served as a pallbearer family mourners included several Elgin locals.

He died Tuesday November 25 1865 at the Veterans Hospital Town City born February 11 1891 Fredericksburg son of Rodger and Nancy Ebson Moody educated in Fredericksburg area worked at Mike's Brothers Butcher Shop later served from July 25 1918 to June 13 1919 moved to Hawk Eye with wife infant son Victor then worked as a blacksmith in Hawk Eye and Elgin from 1939 married Jane Lyon March 3 1941 operated a blacksmith shop in Elgin about 20 years was a member of the American Legion Post 352.

Circle Rachael of the Women s Society of Christian Service met November 18 at the church basement with Mrs Robert Medberry and Miss Gladys Hanson as hostesses. Thirteen members attended as they opened with the Lord s Prayer and roll call. The program Moment by Moment We Enter God s Plan was presented by several members.
