Stretching Oats Crop Raises Hog Feed Value

Stretching oats through the year increases hog feed value. Oats fed in small amounts can be worth as much as or more than their weight in money. Sows and growing gilts use about 20 percent of corn and oats in their ration, about 2 pounds per head if hand fed, with oats especially important for gestating and suckling sows.
