Elgin Echoes Bridal in Elgin Iowa Rustic Church Ceremony
A pretty candlelight wedding took place Tuesday night at the First Baptist Church in Elgin Iowa where Carol E Miller daughter of Mr and Mrs Karl A Miller became the bride of Lorimer D Potratz of Sumner Indiana The double ring service was conducted by Rev August Winkleman in front of a large group of relatives and friends The gown was white slipper satin with a net inset yolk and fitted bodice The bride’s sister Clarissa carried the train The bridal party included Evelyn Miller Louise Miller Dorothy Petratz Priscilla Winkleman and Janice Durscher The groom wore a white coat and dark trousers The reception for 300 followed at the church parlor The couple will reside in Upland Indiana where Mr Petratz will attend Taylor University The bride is a Wheaton College graduate and the groom a Moody Bible Institute alumnus Several out of town guests attended from Illinois Nebraska and Europe.

78 year old Cedar Rapids mother flies as first airline passenger
Mrs. W. B. Harmston of Cedar Rapids enjoyed her first airplane ride with her son acting as pilot. She noted that the plane overshot the field on landing and had to go around again, but she did not mind, saying it gave her a longer ride.
