The Pleasant Valley Homemakers met at Mrs. Edward Krueger home in April. They pledged allegiance, discussed taxes, school matters, and Rural Women's Day in Maynard. Four members visited Des Moines April 4 to report on the trip. a Fayette executive meeting was noted and plans for a rural urban Scottish Tea in Fayette April 22 were announced. A bench project for Elgin businessmen was proposed and a social supper was tentatively planned. The next meeting, a Scottish luncheon, will be May 10 at Mrs. Lyle Martin’s home.
Elgin residents hosted a series of visits by families from Grand Island Nebr Dubuque Iowa and Oelwein with the Livingston and Larson households welcoming several relatives. Clarence Becker returned from Chandler Arizona after wintering in that state and joined friends for Friday coffee at Clermont.
Grand Island Nebraska and Wadena guests fill the weekend with numerous visits.养老 Many households hosted relatives from Madison Wisconsin West Union West Union Lake City and other towns while travel plans tied to Lytton Oelwein and Algona. A steady stream of dinners coffee visits and overnight stays marked a busy social week across towns such as Manchester Prairie du Chien and Postville.
A note states a volunteer from the American Cancer Society visited and you were not at home. Please call 3091 or leave your contribution with Mrs. Kenton Krueger before April 27.
